AUTUMN isn’t only Back To School for kids, you know.  TUTORIALS and WORKSHOPS have been planned for you!

JUDY’S TUESDAY TUTORIALS
Judy will teach you the fundamentals of a specific quilting technique and present a small project on which you can practice your new skill. Beginners to advanced quilters will find these topics helpful and fun. Perhaps you want a topic not listed below – let us know.

September 10 – LOG CABIN QUILTS  10:30am – 3pm
Judy will introduce you to the versatility of the log cabin block. You will learn 2 ways to make a log cabin block – one method uses strips and regular machine stitching and the other method uses paper piecing. For those of you that don’t like paper piecing, you will find this method extremely accurate and very easy (no crazy triangles to fit over the lines!!). We will make a few blocks each way and then look at how they can be arranged in some very interesting designs.
Class Fee: $20 + $1 supply charge

October 8 – LIL’ TWISTER CHRISTMAS WREATH 10:30am – 3pm

LEARN about different foundation materials (and when to use them), helpful tips for construction, how color value plays a part in the success of the design, and appliqué techniques for finishing your project. EXPAND your design vocabulary! Did you know colors can be chewy or that designs can be bossy? Mary will discuss the myriad of possibilities for foundation string piecing and an "inspiration book" with fabulous examples of alternative designs, the history of string quilts, and the A-HA! moments when she was studying the Susan McCord quilts.
LEARN important tips for working with small strips and managing some seam allowance hiccups that can occur. WATCH a Demo on how to remove the foundation paper without ripping your hair out too!
