Tie-Dye!

I taught a class on tie-dyeing t-shirts last Saturday.  It was great fun!  Mom taught how to dye fabric in the afternoon, and I experimented with some new tie-dye designs.  Here are some pictures of my experiments, and some of the pieces Mom did.

I made an octopus!

Here comes the sun...

I think this looks like a fish :)  Like the ichthys symbol.

FYI: new email

Our email used to be through Verizon, but Verizon has been bought by Frontier, which means that the shop email address is no longer delphines@verizon.net.  Now, it's delphines@frontier.com.

On a totally unrelated note, lots of new fabric came in while I was gone last week!  I'll have to go around and take pictures and post them :)

Alpenfest Quilt

The Alpenfest quilt was finished on Sunday and is now on display at the store!  I would love to share a photo with you but my camera cable is in Seattle with Katrina.  Looks like I need to buy one tonight.  The quilt will stay up until the end of July or longer if we can find a permanent home for it.  Maybe one of the freshly painted walls in the bathroom hallway would be a good place for it?  Yes, I do believe the large wall would be perfect.

New Baskets and Something for Alpenfest

We got some new baskets in the other day!  They come in all smooshed up, so we took them home, put them in hot water, and shaped them, then I took pictures of them while they were drying.

Incidentally, I'm out of town this week for a science conference, and this week is Alpenfest.  Since I won't get to wear an Alpenfest outfit, I made one for my doll.  I used a pattern we have at the store for her shirt and skirt.

Christmas Raffle Quilt

The shop is the temporary home for this quilt made to raise funds for Operation Christmas Child (World Vision).  Tickets are $1.00 apiece and all funds will help World Vision ship shoeboxes full of toiletries, toys, games and hard candies around the world to children in need of a present.  The quilt is only here for a few more days but the tickets will stay for the next few months!  A group of non-quilters plus one quilter, from Traverse City put this delightful quilt together, but you would never know they were non-quilters by looking at it!  There are lots of embellishments, and creativity abounds.  Please consider purchasing tickets to help out this wonderful organization which has been bringing joy to 100's of 1000's of children for many years!
