Block of the Month Programs for 2014

In case you didn't know, we are offering five (that's right, five!) Block-of-the-Month programs this year! Here are the description of each, taken from our latest newsletter.

This program filled quickly! We have only 2 spaces left! HURRY! This will make an 1800s style sampler quilt of 7 1/2” blocks set with a double border made from a striped fabric and a pieced Sawtooth border. Star Singles papers are used to help with the construction of the Half-Square units used in the blocks. Starting with Saturday, October 19th, 2013, block of the month folks are invited to meet to work on their blocks at the shop. There is no additional fee to come this day.
The cost of the program is $23.99 per month with a deposit of $23.99, which will be applied to the 12th month for payment.

M IS FOR MYSTERY– Faye Burgos for Marcus Fabrics designed the fabrics in this 91” x 123” mystery quilt. The quilt begins with gorgeous fabrics and is rich and complex looking, yet easy to cut and easy to piece. This program will start in March of 2014. The cost is $25.99 per month or $310.00 -10% ($279) if paid for by January 15th 2014. Pictures of the fabrics are available at the following link, and Delphine’s is using the Blue color-way.

HIDDEN STAR – We are again offering a program that uses the Marti Michell template sets for easy cutting and piecing with a minimal amount of fabric! Talk about accuracy! The fabrics are a gorgeous collection called Tomorrow’s Promise by Maywood Studio (you can see the fabrics here:, just scroll down to Tomorrow's Promise). Starting in March of 2014, this program will cost $15.99 a month for a queen sized quilt or $190 –10% ($171.00) if paid for by January 15th Template sets A - $17.99 and C - $21.99 are used in the quilt but are optional if you make your own templates.

PEACE & UNITY – This quilt is the final installment of Civil War commemorative
quilts by Marcus Fabrics. It is twin sized and will cost $17.99 per month or $210 -10% ($189.00) if paid for by January 15, 2014. View the quilt at the shop or on-line at A picture of our sample at the store is below:

BERTIE’S YEAR – Starting in April, 2014, this program will let you make 12 Charming projects with 1 little bird made from Woolies and Shadow Play flannels by Maywood Studio! Each month you will make a 13” x 17” quilt. Bertie, the bird in “costume” or action; such as pulling a flower wagon in May, will delight you. Simple piecing and applique will keep you making these up each month in anticipation of the next one! The price is $20.99 per month or $251.99 –10% ($226.69) if paid by February 15, 2014. A 12-month Button Pack from Hillcreek designs and Backing fabric is included in the cost, and a 6-color assortment of #8 Presencia Perle Cotton is offered at $15.99.

Chalk Cloth Chalkboard

We've made ourselves a new cloth "chalkboard"! It hangs on your left when you enter, and we use it to announce special deals.  We made this new one with pre-laminated fabric for easy cleanup.  If you'd like to make your own laminated fabric, we have fusible vinyl that will let you do just that!

New Fabrics!

Happy New Year!
Going along with new things, we have some great new fabrics in the shop! Here are some pictures of just a few of them.

This one has actually been here for a little while, but it's just cool, so it needed to be put up. Do you need to make a quilt or wallhanging for a future astronaut?

Everyone at the shop likes this line! This is Cosmopolitan by Benartex.  It's Tiffany blue with gray, black and white, and it's really fun and pretty.

This one is from French General by Moda.  It's preprinted, so there's no piecing required, unless you choose a companion print for borders!

Finally, there's a panel for making this cute counting book:
