WE SURVIVED SHOP HOP!!!

We survived all the flurry and fun of "The Amazing Quilt Race" Shop Hop.  Everyone seemed to have a great time and were excited to see our newly expanded shop.  There's more to come as we continue to remodel/spruce up the second half of the new space.  Our class area/club space/demo niche is now in the front of the new room so we get lots of natural light plus room to move around.  Judy is very excited about this new classroom.  We actually had a class there last Wednesday, the Free Motion Quilting Class.  You might be interested to know that Kris Beery of Gaylord won the grand prize of a Bernina 215 - she was thrilled (who wouldn't??).

(Photographer's note: the quilt is not as yellow as it seems - flash problem)

Delphine's quilt for the shop hop, Fall Majesty, was well received by the hoppers.  In case you didn't get to purchase a kit, we still have finishing kits as well as complete kits which include the blocks, fabric, and instructions from all six shops.  Give us a call if you would like to purchase one of these kits and we can hold it for you.  The finishing kit cost $43.99 and the complete kit costs $79.99,

Once the last customer left the store on the last day of the shop hop, Delphine started ordering more fabrics and notions. You'll see more of these new things on the blog as they arrive.

The other day, one of Judy's students stopped by to show us her very first free motion quilted project.  It is SEW cute and very well done!!  This little quilt was done by Jackie Brown and is a pattern from Primitive Quilts and Projects Magazine.  Judy gave her an A+.

Jackie also brought along this beauty which was hand pieced and hand quilted.  Judy wants to take a class from her!!

Another quilt on display is Lake Life which was pieced and quilted by our Cathy Hughes.  The 4 center images are from a panel and the surrounding fabrics all coordinate very well.  The pattern book, Lake Life, has about 9 other patterns which use this line.  This quilt and its fabrics have become a favorite with our customers and more panels should arrive any day now.

(Photographer's note: the quilt is not as yellow as it seems - flash problem again)

Cathy's quilting is a bobber motif - it is very well done!

(This photo is closer to the true color)

That's all for today.  See you all here next week.

Keep on stitching,
Judy

In case you are wondering, the Neighborhood is growing and soon will become a very nice quilt.  Soon, I promise!  Judy
