A sneak peek and some pictures from Katrina

I've had so much going on this semester that I almost completely forgot about the blog.

Mom came down this week to go to a doctor's appointment with me.  While she was here, she was working on the new Civil War block of the month, so we decided to post a preview for you :)

Just for fun, I thought some of you might enjoy seeing how my roommates and I decorated our house for Christmas:

The palm tree is from me, and the wedding arch and ornaments are from one of my roommates (she's getting married, hence the wedding arch).  I have a light-up palm tree because my roommate from freshman year is letting me borrow it from her because I keep telling her how much I miss it :)

Also, I discovered the other day that the macro setting on my camera will let me take pictures of snowflakes!

...and now I really need to spend the rest of today studying.  I have four finals next week.
