The students in Judy's class met to learn the "strip tube" technique and began sewing the blocks for their quilts. The pattern booklet is called "Strip Tubing" by Daniela Stout and Georgette Dell'Orco and is available at the shop along with the recommended ruler. Two weeks later they met again to help each other arrange their blocks and to choose border fabrics. Most students chose the "Just Too Easy" pattern but Madeline chose "Freestyle Roman Stripes". (Madeline's grandson is graduating from high school and going on to college on a golf scholarship. Theoff-white triangles will be used for signatures from his buddies - a great memory quilt.) The method for all the patterns in the book are the same, just the width and number of strips used to create each block changes. We had 2 design "walls" to work with as well as all the tables. It was so much easier than doing it at home and so much more fun!!
