Block of the Month Programs - Warm Winter Blessings and Lovely in Lavender

We will be offering two block of the month programs this year! One is a lovely wool applique with snowmen, beginning in April. The other begins in June, has pieced blocks, and will be a beautiful lavender quilt. More information about them is below:

Lovely in Lavender

A Sheep!

I just finished an absolutely adorable pincushion! This is "Over the Moon for Ewe", a wool pincushion kit from Just Another Button Company. It comes with five pins: four stars and one moon. They didn't say to use the stars for eyes, but I quite like them like that :)
It's a great kit; it contains everything you need, even the freezer paper. Their kits can be a bit expensive, but all the buttons are handmade in the USA, in Illinois, and all the kits are assembled there as well. It's a great way to support a small American business, and their products are adorable!

The Making of Batiks

If you've ever wondered how batiks are made, this is a great video showing how it's done. If the music gets to you, you can always watch it on mute. It's definitely worth watching!

Seminole Sampler

Trish, a customer of ours, just brought in this stunning quilt to choose a backing for it. The quilt is called a Seminole Sampler, and it's phenomenal. It's all made out of batiks, and the pieces are tiny (and not paper-pieced).

Australian Samples

Have you ever looked at our Australian fabrics and wondered what to do with them? Here's one idea: It's a lone star that Delphine made a few years ago. We have most, if not all, of the prints used here.

This is another Australian sample that was just brought in a few days ago! It's a simple way to showcase some really neat fabrics. The name of the pattern is "BQ", and the pattern is available here.

Pretty Fabrics

More beautiful fabrics just came in! First up is a very pretty line called "Sakura Park," by Senitmental Studios for Moda.

Next, lots of gorgeous batiks! I'm already thinking of some uses for some of these.

These batiks aren't brand-new, but they're all still fairly new, and I think they're great:
